Free Threads DM Generator & Fake Message Mockup
Threads carries Instagram's clean, high-contrast look into a messenger, and its DMs have a spare black-and-white feel. This template rebuilds that styling so a fictional Threads conversation reads as the app rather than a generic chat or an Instagram DM.
Independent fictional design tool. Not affiliated with the platform. Do not use generated images as authentic screenshots or endorsements.
How to create your threads dm
Three steps, all in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to an account and nothing is published anywhere.
- Step 1
Set the contact
Enter the username and status and choose the appearance. Threads leans on a minimal monochrome palette rather than a brand colour, and the template applies that restraint so the conversation reads as Threads rather than a more colourful messenger.
- Step 2
Write the messages
Add each line, mark which side it belongs on, and set the times. Reorder to shape the flow and delete any message without rebuilding. Received and sent bubbles sit opposite each other exactly as the app lays a real DM out.
- Step 3
Download
Check the sender sides and wrapping in the live preview, then export the PNG with no account required. The conversation is invented and rendered as a still image; nothing is sent through Threads and no real account is involved.
Before you export
Is this a real Threads DM?
No. It renders a still image of a conversation you wrote. It does not connect to Threads, send messages, or reach a real account.
Is the Threads DM editor free without Discord?
Yes. Open the template, edit the fields and download a PNG without an account. Discord verification and invite roles are used for the separate Proofs, Fansigns and Videos tools, not for this Social Mockups template.
What is included in the download?
The current preview is rendered as a PNG at 2x pixel density, including the visible fictional label. Uploaded images and text are part of the composition. It is a still design example, not proof of a real account, conversation or interaction.
